Park Street Kolkata - Mother Teresa Sarani
Park Street is the oldest and busiest road in Kolkata. The road extends from Chowrangi Road or J L Nehru Road to Park Circus Crossing. Numerous cars and people are constantly traveling on this road. It is about 250 years old. It has been known by various names since about 1760, such as Gharostan Ka Road, Vansittart Avenue and Burial Ground Road. It is now officially known to everyone as Park Street or Mother Teresa Sarani.
One of the attractions of the city is Park Street road between Chowrangi Road and Mallick Bazaar. Several roads originate from Park Street, such as Russell Street, Middleton Row, Camac Street, Wood Street, Loudon Street, Rowden Street, Free School Street and Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road.
Park Street is a major recreational area for the people of Kolkata. There are many clubs, pubs and restaurants. There are also shopping malls, 5-star hotels, nightclubs and various markets on both sides of the road. It is called Food Street because of the variety of food available here. Durgapujo, Kalipujo and at Christmas this road is covered with full lighting. All in all, this Pak Street is known as the king of entertainment in Kolkata.
