Mirik Lake Or Sumendu Lake View
Mirik Hill Town is a small town in Darjeeling District, the state of West Bengal, India, which is located 52 km from Siliguri and 49 km from Darjeeling. It's highest point is Bokar Monastery and lowest point is Mirik Lake. The name of Mirik comes from the word Lepcha which means "Place Of Fire". The city of Mirik has become a tourist center for its natural environment, climate, beautiful weather and good beavior of people. It has a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius in summer and a minimum of 1 degree Celsius in winter, which is the most pleasant climate for travel. The name of the place is further influenced by Mirik or Sumendu Lake, which is 1.25 km long. There is a long arched footbridge over this lake, which is known to everyone as Indreni Pool. There is also a garden called Savitri Pushpuddin, Pine Trees, 3.5 km long road around the lake which is used for walking and the unparalleled beauty of Kanchenjunga is within reach. Boat rides on this lake are very romantic.
